Adrienne and Mat were married in Adelaide and decided to have another reception for their friends and family in Penang.
19 Dec is their hens nite in Penang. The Chinese version of hen’s/buck’s night here in Malaysia is the “lau tiau meh” where relatives and friends would come over the night before the wedding for dinner. No strippers or risqué games but a lot of really good food. Adrienne’s aunt did all the cooking herself and I can vouch that she does really good authentic Nonya food! My wife love fruitcake that i brought home as the souvenir from the party.
How technology has evolved – they were communicating with their relatives that couldn’t make it to Penang via a laptop .
They hired a satay uncle to prepare skewers of yummy morsels.
The next day, the wedding reception was held at the E&O hotel, one of the oldest hotels in Penang.

Gerard was looking for a unique wedding favor for his sister’s wedding and suggested the idea of a photo booth. I love how it makes such a fun & memorable souvenir for guests – what else could be more customized than an actual photo of yourself with your friends/family or the wedding couple!
I set up an area at the reception area where guests could feel free to have their photos taken and printed out after a few minutes. To say that the guests were skeptical at first would be an understatement.
“Sure or not few minutes only?”
“Is it a real photo or just printed on a piece of paper?”
When the photos were printed out and mounted onto a card personalized with the wedding couple’s name and date, everyone was delighted with the results. In fact, some loved it so much that they kept going back to take different photos and asked for more reprints – it was definitely a crowd pleaser.
Basic setup – we can offer more quirky and fun backdrops with cool props. Fancy a light saber anyone?
For guests to take home a special piece of the wedding and remember this night forever, I arranged for the wedding couple’s name and date to be printed on a card and the photo is then mounted on it. Have a particular theme? A quote that you’d like to share with your guests? The possibilities are endless!
If you’re keen on setting up a photo booth at your next event, drop me a note

I know i have been really behind in my blog lately, but better late than never.
Chinese believes that if one hold a special occasion during an auspicious date will bring more good luck and prosperity, because of this reason, many auspicious date are being sought after by the Chinese, such as 08.08.08 (prosper & wealthy), 09.09.09 (forever/endless) & 10.10.10 (the perfect 10).
I was given the privilege to cover this special occasion on this special day for this special couple. Congratulation to Choon Siew and Yu Teong.
